Real estate firm donates 16 old phones to help fulfill charity’s wish

When Gordana Cwiek, marketing director of Armada Real Estate Services, was reading Crain’s Wish List, she identified three nonprofits in the list and sent a message.

“They emailed us out of nowhere saying they saw we have technology needs and asked if we wanted telephones. She copied other nonprofits on the email and said whoever responds first gets the phones,” explained Brooke Adams, chief development officer at Methodist Children’s Home Society in Redford. “I emailed back immediately.”

The 25-year-old West Bloomfield brokerage firm represents landlords looking to lease space at shopping centers and already was planning to donate its phones somewhere, and then Cwiek saw the list.
